Everything you need to know about the women’s Giro d’Italia, which begins on 30th June
The Giro d’Italia Donne, formerly the Giro Rosa, is the longest-running stage race for the women’s peloton, the counterpart to the men’s Giro d’Italia.
The 33rd edition of the race promises to be another action-packed event, and with up to two hours of live TV coverage per stage promised, we can watch it too.

The team swept the podium with winner Anna van der Breggen, who also topped the points classification, followed by Ashleigh Moolman Pasio and Demi Vollering.
Teammate Niamh Fisher-Black won the young rider classification too.
But onwards to the 2022 edition…

Giro Donne 2022 live coverage

TV coverage is an area the Giro Donne has historically struggled with.
After the 2020 edition, the race was demoted from its WorldTour status to 2.ProSeries level by the UCI for failing to provide the mandated 45 minutes of live coverage.
Organisers then limited coverage to just the final 15km of each stage in 2021 to fit in a wider hour-long coverage package for TV that included interviews and podium presentations.
But even this wasn’t always the case. Sometimes we saw more, with up to 30km of live coverage shown, but other times less, with nothing of the Queen Stage not shown.
Pulse Media Group (PMG Sport) became the new organisers after the 2021 race and have promised up to two hours of live coverage for each stage.
